Kenneth Young
the central figure in the film, was convicted for his role in a series of armed robberies committed when he was 14 and 15 years old. He is 26 at the time of filming and is now serving the remainder of his sentence in a Florida prison.
Stephanie Young
Kenneth Young’s mother and a recovering drug addict, was addicted to crack for 19 years, including much of Kenneth’s childhood.
Paolo Annino
Kenneth Young’s lead attorney, is also the head of Florida State University’s Children in Prison Project and a co-director of the Public Interest Law Center in Tallahassee.
