Jian Fan, Director
Jian Fan is a Beijing-based documentary director with a focus on Chinese social issues and human interest. Since graduating from Beijing Film Academy, he has made more than five feature documentary films. His films have been selected for the Berlinale, International Documentary Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival and others. His film The Next Life, a co-production with NHK and Al Jazeera, won many awards in China, and his film My Land earned support from the Sundance Documentary Fund and was screened at the 2016 Berlinale.
